Invisalign is a series of clear, removable plastic trays that slowly move your teeth into position. These aligners are nearly invisible, making them a popular choice for adults and kids who want the same great result without having metal wires or brackets on their teeth. Invisalign Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY, uses 3D computer imaging technology to precisely map out every movement your teeth will make during treatment.

Each aligner is customized to move your teeth just a little bit at a time until they are in their ideal position. You will wear an aligner for about two weeks before receiving the next one in the mail. Invisalign slowly moves your teeth into the perfect position over several months – faster than traditional braces and with fewer visits to the orthodontist.

    How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign aligners are made up of 3-D images of your teeth. A scanner captures the images, which are then processed by a computer program that creates a series of custom-made aligners that will slowly move your teeth into their desired positions. The Invisalign treatment plan involves wearing a series of clear plastic aligners that gradually move teeth over time to correct alignment problems. The procedure straightens the teeth without having to wear metal braces or has invasive orthodontic procedures done.

What are the benefits of Invisalign treatment?

    Corrects crowded teeth

If you have a crowding problem or need orthodontic treatment, Invisalign may be the best way to achieve the desired results. You won’t have to worry about metal wires or brackets. Invisalign is clear, so no one will know you are wearing it. Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable, BPA-free plastic that is virtually invisible when worn.

    Is comfortable to wear

You will hardly notice that you are wearing Invisalign aligners because they are virtually invisible and comfortable to wear. Unlike traditional metal braces, you can also eat and drink whatever you like with Invisalign braces, as there is no metal in the way.

    Results in shorter treatment time

Traditional metal braces take several months to finish straightening your teeth and aligning your bite. With Invisalign, the process takes an average of 9-15 months (some cases may take longer). However, the results are often better than traditional braces because they are more accurate and less invasive on your mouth structure.

    Corrects crossbites

A crossbite occurs when one side of your jaw is higher than the other, and your lower front teeth don’t align with your upper front teeth when you bite down. Crossbites are often corrected using Invisalign because it is so easy to adjust each tooth as opposed to traditional braces that require adjustments on both sides simultaneously.

Invisalign works by slowly moving your teeth into place over time using a series of clear plastic aligners. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being gradually replaced with the next one in the series. The process takes approximately 12-18 months, depending on how many weeks there are between each tray in your treatment plan. You will need to liaise with Brooklyn City Dental professionals every two weeks to ensure the best possible results.
